| Cordovan Leather belts and shoes are a statement of enduring style and timeless
design. By Dennis Dann, Dann Men's Clothing, www.Dann-Online.com Anytime anything is limited or difficult to obtain, everyone wants it. Anything in Genuine Shell Cordovan leather fits into this category. The Hand-finishing and pure vegetable tanning process that takes 6 months to complete is indeed a centuries old method. The leather which this produces should last 10 to 15 years. It shines beautifully and develops an even better patina with age(particularly the Burgundy "Cordovan" color). This is not a high-volume process........one that is truly an art.......and more reminiscent of the days of cobblers making a single pair of shoes by hand. Water does not easily penetrate so it makes for a very durable leather shoe. As a longtime retailer, I have had the pleasure of sharing the wonderful Shoes, Belts, Belt straps and sometimes nice desk accessories & brief bags that are made from the highly prized skins. I know how difficult they are to get..........the long waits we have had over the years for the items........and the truly limited nature of the skin. I have a pair of Black Tuxedo Shoes in Shell Cordovan from a million years ago (1967)...........still in my closet...........still look fantastic when I wear them. What does Shell Cordovan go with ? Dressy...........Classic........Timeless. We carry shoes with Tassels, Monk Strap, Slip-ons and Lace-up Oxfords on our website and are shipping them around the world.
